Review: Canmake eyeshadow, blush and bb cream

CANMAKE

Today I have a very different post. My dear friend Janah asked me to share my thoughts on the Canmake items I bought a couple of weeks ago. I’m not very knowledgable about make-up in any way, but I have tested the products for a couple of weeks now and I think I can share my opinion now.

I usually only wear very simple make-up: foundation/BB cream, black or brown eyeliner, eyebrow gel and mascara. Not because I wouldn’t want to wear a more professional make-up, I simply don’t want to spend more than ten minutes on my face in the morning. Sleep is important, you know? ;D

But, once in a while, I need a little pop of colour here and there! I decided to order a small Canmake eyeshadow palette, a blush and a BB cream on Amazon. Canmake is a very popular Japanese drug store brand and known for their cute packaging and good quality.

You might ask yourselves why in all the world I would order these items from Japan when there are more than enough make-up brands available in Germany? Because it’s really difficult to find those soft, shimmery, pastel shades! I’ve been watching Asian beauty gurus for ages and I always admired their flawless, dewy skin and their peachy, shimmery eyeshadow. It always bugged me that I couldn’t find anything similar in Germany. So let’s take a look at the Canmake items I ordered πŸ™‚

Canmake Tokyo Perfect Stylist Eyes – 05

The palette comes with 5 different shades: base (1), natural style (2), bright style (3), liner (4) and topping jewel (5). They also added a quick guide on how to apply the different colours on the back of the packaging.
The colours are exactly what I hoped them to be – soft, shimmery and natural. They’re nicely pigmented and the formula contains just the right amount of glitter. Despite the hot and humid weather we had during the last weeks, I’m also quite satisfied with how long they last (I wore my Artdeco 3 in 1 Primer underneath).

Rating: 5/5

Would I buy it again?
Yes definitely, I will probably try out other palettes as well.

Canmake Tokyo Glow Fleur Cheeks – 04

A very soft, easy to use and natural-looking highlighter / blush. The colour is lovely, but unfortunately doesn’t last very long. It might be the fault of the hot weather or me having my hands all over my face while working. However, the packaging is quite small and it comes with a cute little brush, so you can easily take it with you and reapply it during the day.

Rating: 3/5

Would I buy it again?
Perhaps, I actually don’t mind reapplying it and I love how natural it looks.

Canmake Perfect Serum BB Cream, SPF 50, 02 Natural Beige

I couldn’t test the different shades, so I simply chose the second lightest colour, as I usually do when I buy foundation from other brands. When I first tested it on my skin, I was slightly disappointed, as the cream has a very prominent yellow undertone that doesn’t suit my skin colour very well. Even so, I can pull it off if I’m wearing only a very thin layer.

The second thing I noticed was the coverage – wow! I’m used to Maybelline’s bb creams, which are basically normal creams with a tiny bit of coverage. The Canmake bb cream on the other hand offers a full coverage that covers each and every red spot on my face. It also has a much thicker consistency than other bb creams I’ve tried. The finish is dewy, but I would recommend wearing a hydrating cream underneath it to prevent your skin from drying out.

Rating: 4/5

Would I buy it again?
Perhaps, but I would probably choose a lighter shade!

Hope you liked my little Canmake review πŸ™‚
See you soon ❀

In case you’re interested: It took about 6 weeks for the products to arrive in Germany.

Yay! Thank you for sharing this well-written review, Nina.

The blush is so pretty but too bad the color isn’t long lasting. Also, I’m gonna check out the BB Cream. It seems really nice plus it has SPF too! πŸ’•
