Weekly Recap #5: Korean Skin Care, Hitting 200 Followers and Thoughts About My Blog

Weekly Recap #5

Happy Sunday everyone! How has your week been? Mine has been pretty rough, it was much harder than I expected to arrive back home on Sunday evening after being on the road for 3 weeks and to start work again on Monday morning. I’ve been feeling pretty tired and I’m actually quite happy about the rainy weather here today – the perfect excuse to wrap myself in a blanket and sip on a hot cup of tea.

Summer is slowly fading away and you if you look closely, you can already spot the first signs of autumn: some leaves are already starting to change from green to yellow, birds are gathering to migrate to the South and you can already smell the first mushrooms while walking through the forest. However, the weather forecast shows that we can still expect a couple of warm and sunny days, so let’s appreciate them!

Now, on to what I’ve been up to this week.

Korean Skin Care: The Little Book of Skin Care

After years of consideration, I finally decided to try the famous Korean skin care routine. I’ve been watching a ton of YouTube videos about the “10 steps” and read a couple of articles. My skin is not that bad, but I’m in my late twenties now and I feel like I really should start investing more into my skin care.

I ordered “The Little Book of Skin Care” by Charlotte Cho on Amazon, which was recommended by many beauty vloggers. It’s a beginner’s guide to Korean skin care and also contains product recommendations.

I think that the most difficult part of this little adventure is choosing the right products. I usually use an app called “codecheck” to check the ingredients of all my skin care and beauty products, because I want to avoid potential harmful or hormonally active substances. I’m not completely paranoid about this, but I try my best to find products that contain mostly good and harmless ingredients. Checking all those new products will take some time, but it’s important for me.

Hitting 200 Followers

Reaching 200 followers

Last week, WordPress notified me that my blog had reached 200 Followers! Thank you so much for following, liking and commenting!

Thoughts About My Blog

Recently, I’ve been thinking a lot about my blog and the direction I want it to go. I started this blog in October last year and my first blog anniversary is drawing closer. Although I really enjoy blogging and I love the WordPress community, I’ve still not found my niche. There are so many things that I wanted to share, but didn’t, because I thought that yet another topic might add to the randomness of my blog. I would like to do more DIYs, perhaps a little skin care update here and there, share more of my doodles, recipes…what do you think? What would you like to read about? I would appreciate it if you could participate in the little poll below!

Hope you’re having an awesome Sunday!

Congrats on 200 Nina that’s awesome! I get what you mean about the post holiday blues, it’s always a bummer to have to go back to work and settle into regular life again. As for your blog, I personally don’t think you need a niche, as long as you’re happy writing about it, go for it! 🙂

Massive congrats on 200 followers Nina!! You of course deserve them all and I honestly love the randomness (it’s like a little bit of everything that someone will love) and the fact 200 people love your site just goes to show that your content is amazzing!! I love a good DIY too! x 🙂 ❤

Hello! Just stumbled upon your blog and I really like it! It’s very informative yet you add your own personal touch. I think it’d totally okay to be random! Personally, I like readying about people’s travels, what’s going on in daily life, and of course makeup tips. I’d love to hear how the Korean skin care routine goes! I’m kind of in the same boat thinking more about investing in my skin now that I’m in my mid 20s

Thank you so much, Keira! It’s good to hear that nobody seems to mind my randomness 🙂
I’ll definitely post an update regarding my skincare adventure as soon as I decided which products I’ll order!
