December is here, my favourite month of the year! With the holidays right around the corner and the Christmas rush starting soon, it’s time to look back on a very calm and relaxed November.
Zara Home Gingerbread Aromatic Candle
I’m not a fan of the intense artificial smell of most scented candles, which is why I usually prefer to use natural ingredients to make my house smell good. But on a shopping trip last weekend, I picked up this gingerbread-scented candle from Zara Home and I have to admit I’m pretty impressed with this one. It’s quite sweet, but also very spicy – I love it!
I picked up two of these Christmas mugs at my local Butlers store. I love to collect coffee mugs and these are just so perfectly festive and cute!
Suter Züri-Tirggel (Swiss Honey Biscuits)
Now this is something really special. We visited friends in Zurich in late October and they gave me a pack of “Tirggel” (they know I love them). Tirggel are flat and hard biscuits that you can only get in the area around Zurich. They are made of flour and honey and show historical scenes and local monuments. There are also certain rules on how to eat them:
- Appreciate the beautiful ornamentation
- Break the Tirgel into small pieces (I usually break them down into teeny-tiny bits to appreciate them to the fullest)
- Let the tiny Tirggel pieces melt on your tongue
- Don’t chew them
When you follow these rules, the initially dry and hard Tirggel slowly starts to melt and begins to release its sweet honey flavour. Delicious!
Treaclemoon Bubble Baths
I found these Treaclemoon winter bubble baths at my local drug store. They were about 1.25€ each and I have to say that they represent a good alternative to the much more expensive Lush bubble bars. I had “warm cinnamon nights”, “sweet apple pie hugs” and “lazy chai tea” and all three of them smelled amazing.
New Yoga Mat
After my old one started to literally fall apart, I finally decided to treat myself to a brand-new, eco-friendly yoga mat in my favourite colour! I’ve been doing Yoga for about 8 years now and had my old one for about 4-5 years. I decided to get an extra soft, non-slip mat again, as my knees are quite sensitive. It’s from a brand called “Good Times” and I’m quite happy with it.
I’m obsessed with roasting chestnuts this year. I’ve always loved them, but since I found out how to roast them properly without ending up with a bowl of dry and nearly unpeeelable chestnuts, I’ve been eating them almost every weekend.
WordPress.com Instagram Feature
I nearly dropped my phone when I saw that WordPress.com shared my DIY: Mini Tassel Garland post on their official Instagram account – what a surprise that was! My phone kept buzzing like crazy for about two days…
How was your November? Are you looking forward to Christmas? Do you celebrate it at all?
See you soon 🙂
